This piece is one of the larger series of works which were inspired by the war in Ukraine and refugee crisis.  My grandmother used to tell me a story of her being 16 years old when they had to leave in evacuation in the beginning of WWII.  This piece is when you leave a place which is close to your heart, you leave part of it & part of yourself there.
