I see more and more art about the dreadful state of our environment. This kind of art takes the beautiful forms and shapes that remind us of the celestial otherworldly landscapes. Lots of times these sculpture pieces are made with the new materials, such as cups, and bottles; recently in alter space i saw a piece that was printing people's portraits out of a typical receipt printing machine (alter space SF)! wow all of it is great and intriguing, yet how is that about bettering our environment. Tara Donovan's art, for example, a million and two cups used to creat a grand installaiton - nice effect, very photogenic piece, yet it is coming so short that i almost want to cry when i see something like this.
